Off Track Betting Locations in Colorado

Colorado is known for its diverse geography, mountainous vistas, extreme weather, and for being the home of the cheeseburger: Denver resident Louis Ballast was awarded the trademark in 1935. Surprisingly, despite hosting one of the biggest rodeos in the world, the National Western Stock Show, the Rocky Mountain State has never been known as a hotbed of horse racing.

Currently the only live track is Arapahoe Park in Aurora, owned and operated by Mile High Racing & Entertainment. The Arapahoe calendar generally runs from May to August and features thoroughbreds, quarter horses and Arabians. The marquee race for thoroughbreds is the Gold Rush Futurity for two-year-olds on a six-furlong course. Initially opened in 1984, Arapahoe Park ran races for only one season before being forced to close; it reopened in 1992. Before it, Centennial Race Track had been in business from 1950 (two years after the state legalized pari-mutuel betting) until 1983.

* REMINDER! - you must be of legal age in your state or province to legally wager on thoroughbred or harness horse racing. Please bet responsibly!

All horse-racing activities are administered by the Colorado Horse Racing Association. OTB locations include Havana Park in Aurora, Mile High Racing Park in Commerce City, Post Time in Colorado Springs, Post Time at Sundance in Fort Collins, Post Time South in the Country Bar in Fountain, Red & Jerry's in Sheridan, Southern Colorado Gaming & Event Center in Pueblo, Softball Country in Denver, and the 8 Track at Bank 8 Billiards in Grand Junction. Most have simulcast wagering available, and most outlets have been open since 2009 when the legislature allowed OTB bureaus to accept wagers on out-of-state horse and greyhound races if the outlets were affiliated with any horse or dog track operating in Colorado.

So while Colorado is not exactly prominent on the horse-racing map, wagers can still be made on races at Arapahoe Park and around the world with our preferred racebook partners.
