Sunset Glow Headlines Field For $200,000 San Clemente Stakes

On Sunday at Del Mar, the featured race is the $200,000 San Clemente Stakes. Scheduled to be run at one mile on the turf, the Grade 2 event has attracted a field of nine three-year-old fillies.

Topping the competitive field at odds of 2-1 on the morning line is Sunset Glow for trainer Wesley Ward. A gray daughter of Exchange Rate, she has been on the board in all eight of her starts and is a three-time winner. She was a two-time graded stakes winner as a juvenile on synthetics and recently was second in the Wait a While Stakes at Belmont Park. She will have Gary Stevens aboard as she tries to earn her first victory of the year and they will break from post two.

Her Emmynency looking sharp second off the bench

Second choice at 3-1 on the morning line is Her Emmynency for trainer Michael Stidam. A bay daughter of Successful Appeal, she has won three of her four career starts and will be making her second start since a winning return off of an eight-month layoff. She won an optional claiming race at Arlington Park last time out in her first start of the year and will break from post position four under jockey Rafael Bejarano.

Prize Exhibit (GB) going for second straight stakes win

Also in the field at morning line odds of 7-2 is Prize Exhibit (GB) for trainer James Cassidy. A dark bay daughter of Showcasing (GB), she has won four of her fourteen starts and is trying to earn the second consecutive graded stakes win of her career. Last time out, she won the Senorita Stakes (G3) at Santa Anita in a minor upset victory. She will have regular rider Santiago Gomez aboard and they will break from post five.
