E. P. Taylor Stakes Top Contenders
Fev Rover has run well in her only two starts in Canada, both of which came in graded stakes company. Her win in the Canadian was particularly impressive, as she dueled for a significant portion of the race and had enough left to win by a nose at the wire. Even though she finished off the board the only time she tried a mile and a quarter, that came against proven older males last year. Now she is older, facing fillies, and should make better account.
Moira faces older company for the first time in her career. However, this race has been kind to three-year-olds in its recent history. Though Moira tries grass for the first time, her dam’s other starter has won on the turf. And, she could not have been more impressive when thrashing Canadian-bred males the one time she tried a mile and a quarter. Expect her to roll home.
Adventuring comes off of a win in the Ladies Marathon (G3) at Kentucky Downs, a track she loves. She has never been to Woodbine, but her love of Kentucky Downs bodes well for her ability to handle the broad, galloping track at Woodbine. She also has good tactical versatility; she will be in range of the pace, but does not have to make the top to run a winning race.
Rougir, the likely favorite, adds Lasix for the first time in her career. Though she has disappointed in each of her starts since the Beaugay (G3) four starts back, she is a French Group 1 winner at this mile and a quarter, suggesting the extra distance may help. She also gets high-percentage local rider Kazushi Kimura, and adds Lasix for the first time ever.

Though Henrietta Topham has never gone this long, her pedigree appeals strongly for the step up in trip. She has also shown the ability to win from multiple race shapes, winning on the lead or closing from toward the rear of the pack, meaning she has options for Emma-Jayne Wilson to carve out a trip. For under-the-radar connections, she should be a price in the exotics.
