Enchanting Lady Wheels Back For $150,000 Miss Preakness Stakes

On Friday at Pimlico, the stakes action will continue with the $150,000 Miss Preakness Stakes. Restricted to three-year-old fillies, the Grade 3 race will be contested at six-furlongs and has drawn a field of eleven.

Enchanting Lady has been tabbed as the morning line favorite in the wide-open field at odds of 3-1 for trainer Bob Baffert. A dark bay daughter of Tale of the Cat, she has won two of her five starts, both of which came against minor stakes competition. She is trying to rebound after finishing ninth in the Eight Belles Stakes (G3) on Kentucky Oaks Day as the favorite. Martin Garcia will be back aboard and they will break from the rail.

Undefeated Miss Ella going for three in a row

Second choice at 4-1 on the morning line is Miss Ella for trainer Graham Motion. A bay daughter of Exchange Rate, she is undefeated from two starts and will be trying to earn her second consecutive graded stakes win. She was last seen winning the Beaumont Stakes (G3) in a minor upset at Keeneland in April. Rajiv Maragh will be in the irons and they are scheduled to break from post position three.

Coco's Wildcat stepping up to graded stakes company

Also in the field at morning line odds of 12-1 is Coco’s Wildcat for trainer Kathleen O’Connell. Bred and owned by Gilbert Campbell, the bay daughter of Wildcat Heir will be trying to earn her first graded stakes victory. She has been on the board in eight of her nine starts and was last seen finishing second in a minor stakes race at Tampa Bay Downs. Paco Lopez will be aboard from post position seven.
