Arizona Horse Racing

Arizona Horse Racing

Winter racing in the United States' southwest has been a staple of the Arizona sports scene for years, and really came into its own with the opening of Turf Paradise race track in north Phoenix in the mid 1950s. In addition to Turf Paradise, which typically features thoroughbreds running on both dirt and turf, Tucson is home to Rillito Park, where Quarterhorse racing is the main attraction.
