Many famous horses have run the on their track. Sunland Park Racetrack also holds many stakes races. Their biggest stakes race is the WinStar Derby. It's held every year and the purses on WinStar Derby day keep growing. Even Kentucky Derby winners have raced at the WinStar Derby. Aside from live horse racing, Sunland Park Racetrack also features simulcast action and a wide variety of casino entertainment.
