Pegasus World Cup Odds And Best Bet Recommendations

The 2020 Pegasus World Cup will be held on Saturday, January 25, at Gulfstream Park race track in Hallandale Beach, Florida.

This $3 million Grade 1 event features the best dirt classic horses in North America. The contenders, the odds, and best bet recommendations for this and the Pegasus World Cup Turf can be found here.

2020 Pegasus World Cup Contenders

The expected favorite among the 2020 Pegasus World Cup contenders is Omaha Beach. He won the Rebel Stakes (G2) and the Arkansas Derby (G1) in 2019 and was the favorite to win the Kentucky Derby (G1), but he was scratched just days before the race and required rest. He returned to win the Santa Anita Sprint Championship Stakes (G1) and was second in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) before winning the Malibu Stakes (G1) most recently.

Spun to Run is the horse who beat Omaha Beach in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile. If he succeeds, then Spun to Run will become the only horse to ever defeat Omaha Beach twice.

Diamond Oops shows up here hoping to improve on his eighth-place effort in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile. He has won five times at Gulfstream Park, the most of the contenders.

Higher Power leads a trio of horses running here after competing in the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1). Higher Power was third there and won the Pacific Classic Stakes (G1) earlier in the year.

Math Wizard finished fifth in the Breeders’ Cup Classic in his first start since winning the Pennsylvania Derby (G1).

Seeking the Soul was sixth in the Breeders’ Cup Classic and will make his third try in the Pegasus World Cup, as will War Story. Seeking the Soul was second last year, while War Story has never finished better than fifth.

Other contenders include Mucho Gusto, Roadster, Tax, Mr Freeze, and True Timber.

2020 Pegasus World Cup Odds

One advantage of booking your bets with a top-rated online sportsbook like Bovada is that you can get guaranteed prices on horses who may see a drop in their odds to win the Pegasus World Cup. Each of the first three Pegasus winners did so at less than 2/1 odds, but on Bovada, 11 of the 12 contenders are at or above that line. Booking your bets with Bovada will ensure that you get the best prices.

2020 Pegasus World Cup Best Bet Recommendations

Continuing with the race’s trend of favorites winning, Omaha Beach is the pick for the best bet recommendation. He is currently trading at EVEN on Bovada, but that price will be even lower come race day, so if you like him, then you should bet him now in order to get the best odds.

While that does not sound like it offers much value, the exotic wagers can still offer value. Here are other best bet recommendations (odds according to Bovada):
