He did it on fleet footed filly, Rainbow Blue, who was named the Horse of the Year. 2004 was also the year that attendance got a shot in the arm. The highest turnout in ten years, 30,117, was treated to great harness racing as Windsong's Legacy won the $1 million Hambletonian. Little did they know it, but they were seeing history in the making. Windsong's Legacy ended up becoming the first Trotting Triple Crown winner since 1972. We mentioned the Meadowlands Pace earlier. Thanks to that program, the Meadowlands Racetrack took in a record handle of $7,091,402. The horse named Holborn Hanover produced the highest payoff in the history of the Meadowlands Pace. Holborn Hanover was a long shot at 58-1. The surprising win paid a hefty $119. If it's harness racing you want, the Big M is where the action is located.
