Overflow Field Scheduled For $150,000 Jessamine Stakes

On Wednesday at Keeneland, the featured race is the $150,000 Jessamine Stakes. A Grade 3 event restricted to two-year-old fillies, the race will be contested at a mile and a sixteenth on the turf and has drawn a full field of fourteen with two additional fillies listed as also-eligible.

Harmonize has been tabbed as the morning line favorite in the large field at odds of 5-2 for trainer Bill Mott. A bay daughter of Scat Daddy, she has one win from two starts and will be trying for her second consecutive stakes victory. After a runner-up effort in her debut, she came back to win the P.G. Johnson Stakes at Saratoga by four lengths. Junior Alvarado will be back in the irons and they are scheduled to break from post four.

Theory of Change getting a class test in stakes debut

Second choice at morning line odds of 6-1 is Theory of Change for trainer Chad Brown. A dark bay daughter of Archarcharch, she was purchased for $95,000 as a yearling and will be stepping up to stakes competition for the first time. She made her career debut a winning one at Saratoga in September and pulled off the minor upset victory by a head over eight rivals. Joe Bravo has picked up the mount and they will break from post eight.

Surface switch for stakes-placed Delicate Lady

Also in the field at morning line odds of 10-1 is Delicate Lady for trainer Todd Pletcher. A bay daughter of Thunder Gulch, she has one win from two outings and will be trying to earn her first black type victory. After breaking her maiden at Arlington Park, she was third in the Adirondack Stakes (G3) at Saratoga and will be switching to turf for the first time. John Velazquez will be aboard and they will break from post position ten.
