Grade 2 Bessarabian Headlines Sunday Card at Woodbine

The $200,000 Grade 2 Bessarabian Stakes is the lone graded event in North America Sunday, November 15 as a field of seven fillies and mares is set to contest the seven furlong event over the all-weather surface at Woodbine.

Elusive Collection (9/5) will break from post 3 as the morning line favorite after beginning her career with two straight victories, including a last-out score in the Etobicoke Stakes September 6. The Josie Carroll trainee has recorded both victories at Woodbine and will receive the services of regular jockey Luis Contreras. Elusive Collection will give away experience as the lone three year-old in the field.

Clement filly looks to rebound

The Irish-bred Marbre Rose (3/1) has won 4 of 14 career starts, most notably taking the Grade 3 Seaway Stakes August 8 at Woodbine. Trained by Christophe Clement, the four year-old daughter of Smart Strike has three wins and two seconds in five North American starts after racing seven times in France to open her career. Clement has excelled with foreign imports throughout his training career, but will need a better effort from this filly after finishing sixth last-out in the Grade 3 Noble Damsel Stakes September 19 at Belmont Park.

Endless Light needs cure for seconditis

Another European-bred horse figures as a logical contender in Endless Light (7/2) who will break from the rail for trainer Mark Frostad. Endless Light will try to break through after a pair of second place efforts in the Grade 3 Seaway Stakes and Grade 3 Ontario Fashion Stakes in her last two starts. She has finished second in 7 of 9 career starts, winning the other two.
