Field of Ten Set For $100,000 Perfect Sting Stakes

On Friday at Belmont Park, the featured race is the $100,000 Perfect Sting Stakes. Scheduled to be run at one mile on the turf, the race has drawn a field of ten fillies and mares.

Chad Brown will saddle the morning line favorite Daring Kathy at odds of 3-1 in the competitive field. A four-year-old daughter of Wildcat Heir, she has won six of her nine starts and has been on the board eight times. She has been on the shelf since winning the first graded stakes race of her career in the My Charmer Handicap (G3) in November and has been training steadily for her return to the races. Javier Castellano will be aboard and they will break from post position two.

Marbre Rose (IRE) going for first win of the year

Second choice at 7-2 on the morning line is Marbre Rose (IRE) for trainer Christophe Clement. She has won three of her eleven starts and was a minor stakes winner at Gulfstream Park last year. She has improved with each start this year and was last seen finishing second in the Intercontinental Stakes at Belmont in June. Irad Ortiz, Jr. will be in the irons and they will break from post position eight.

Patsy's Holiday looking for second stakes win

Also in the field at morning line odds of 8-1 is Patsy’s Holiday for trainer Todd Pletcher. A four-year-old daughter of Harlan’s Holiday owned by Starlight Racing, she has won four of her fifteen starts and was a stakes winner at Monmouth Park last year. She was second last time out in the Miss Liberty Stakes and will have Luis Saez aboard as she tries to earn her first victory of the year from post position five.
