This track is a traditional dirt oval, with 1,050 feet from the last turn to the finish line. Fairmount Park Raceway is a venue that is rich with history, having sent a number of horses to Churchill Downs in the 1920s. These days, there is still a lot going on at the track and a lot to do. Aside from the live racing dates that bring in the big crowds, Fairmount Park Raceway also features simulcast racing from all across the country seven days a week. There is no shortage of refreshment options at Fairmount Park Raceway either, with dining options at the Top of the Turf, the Black Stallion Room, and the 1st Turn Café. And that’s not to mention the famous Parties at the Park, where $12 will get you admission, a free pass to the buffet, and drink specials every Friday night during racing season. This diverse facility is a great place to get together with groups of all sizes. You can host a handful of friends or clients in your own private box while you enjoy the action on the track, or bring in as many as 400 guests for a customized wedding, business conference, reception, or seminar. Fairmount Park Raceway was home to both Thoroughbred and Standardbred harness racing up until 1999, when harness racing was dropped. Still, tradition runs deep here. Fairmount Park Raceway features a Junior Jockey Club, which is a free program for children 13 years old or under that focuses on learning about Fairmount Park and horse racing in general.
